Networking iBook to iMac

i want to be able to swap files by just using one cable (what kind to i need. cross over?) but anyways what are the settings for 10 to clasic, clasic to clasic, and 10 to 10? thanks in advance


i would network Via Fire Wire but i need to get a 6 to 6 FW cable i only have the 6 to 3 that came with my iMac (maybe there is an adapter out there?)

you need a cross over cable, and just turn on apple talk on both machines...

To get to the other computer.

on a calssic, go to chooser, and click on apple share, you should see the other computer...

in X, click on the go menu in the finder, and select apple talk, and you should see the other machine...

make sure you have a user account set up on both machines...
