Networking With Apache Server

Hello, my name is Carp. I love Macs, but am forced to use a PC. I have one old HP and one old custom built one, both hand-me downs from my parents. I didn't know where else to go, so here goes:

I have been running a server on the older one for some time with a cable connection, but now with the newer one, I want to save all my files that I used to have on my server onto the new one.

I thought I could do this simply by putting a shortcut in the server root to the folder where I am keeping my files on the new one. But, this happened when I tried it. If anyone knows how I can solve this, help would be greatly appreciated.

My server is here if you care to check it out.

I'm sorry I must not be reading this right.
You are having problems with what files?

There are files within your links from files.html. All exept the music folder is that the one you are talking about?

Also what are you running apache in window or *nix?

so you mean that apache on your old machine is accessing your files on your new machine through a shortcut? If so, can you access the file outside of apache? If the links won't work then either the link itself is hosed (ie it's pointing to the wrong place) or your permissions are messed up. First make sure you can access the file from explorer. If you can, then check the permissions to make sure that whatever user that apache is running as can also access the files (check it's properties/permissions).

Androo, apache is the most popular web server out there. It's an open source web server (and therefore free).
