it seems that every time i visit apple.com i notice that they have new apple store somewhere different than before. has anyone else noticed this? is apple taking a new (more direct) approach to selling their wares?
I have read that their plan is to take advantage of the economic opportunities that having more outlets provides. I think apple is going to open new stores in every state. Find more on this at apple's website and other apple rumor sites.
I went to an Apple Store last night to take a look at an iBook before I ordered it. I was there for about an hour and a half, but just while I was there, they sold three computers: two iBooks and a Powerbook G4.
There must have been about a fifty people walk though. It's located inside a Mall, so it is kind of like a magnet. Must be a really good place for one anyway. If it wasn't for the $75 tax, I would have bought mine on the spot. But MacMall gives you a free 512MB RAM.
I was told, by an apple genius, that stores depend on the info they get from when you register. That then shows how many mac fans are in an area. Thus telling them where the best places to put stores are.
