New iMac price not so low in Europe

The $1799 top model in Europe costs 2199 Euro!
THIS IS A TERRIFIC CHANGE!!!

Price is good in America, not in Europe!

And why there is no a model identical to the top of the line but with a combo instead of a superdrive?
CPU speed is one thing, the ability to burn dvd another one, many people wants maximum speed but really don't need to burn dvd.

However I think new iMac is a very good machine.
 
I intend on getting a new imac with superdrive, but it is too bad I have to pay more. I'm not in Europe, but in Canada it is the same thing. We have to pay the U.S. equivalent in price. Sony used to equalize their prices. If a Sony TV was $800 U.S. it was $800 Canadian. If a company wants to keep sales up - this really makes more sense. Wages in Canada are equal or less to the U.S. for comparable jobs (hence our brain drain). That was my big problem with the iPod. I wasn't going to pay $600 to play mp3s.
 
The equivalent of 1799 US $, with the
actual change, is 2017 Euro.
But we need to pay more, 2199 Euro!

And also, 'cause I live in Italy, i need to
add a 20% tax for a total of 2639 Euro
(the equivalent of 2354 US $).

But while this last is an Italian plague, the first is a stupid Apple strategy that obviously reduce mac diffusion in Europe.
