That looks wrong. The way I read that you've posted specs for a powermac and an iMac. The iMac specs are all G3. That doesn't agree with the time article.

I think I saw those same specs on thinksecret or mosr as part of a give-away program to macworld attendees. Maybe this is just bad rumor information. Or, maybe I'm wrong.
 
vanguard, the Time was wrong. Maybe you don't believe me but this is straight from Apple resellers.

And fitznutz, the drive is called SuperDrive II.
It´s one drive, you see :D ;)

that's stupid... I WANT G4 REAL TIME EFFECTS ON THE NEW iMAC!!!

they should put G4's in it.... and up the PowerMacs to G5...

are you 100% SURE those are reliable?

Just to be clear, it's not a matter of believing you. I'm sure you're a good guy. It's just that I bought the Time thing hook, line, and sinker (American expression meaning I fully believed it). I guess we'll find out in 1.5 hours which source has the bad information.
 
the "TWIN" is in refernce to the GeForce Twin View Card.... it is a card that allows a dual monitor type setup with only using one video card. it is nice cuz it frees up a PCI slot that would normally be dedicated to an additional card.

btw. i don't believe these specs either. the new iMac is G4... otherwise they wouldn't be putting SuperDrives in them. DVD burning is not possible without the AltiVec instruction set.
 
Go to www.apple.com/home/ . I viewed the source code and the specs for the iMac were: 800MHz G4 with Velocity Engine, 15 inch Active Matrix LCD, Airport ready, Super Drive, iTunes,iPhoto and iDVD. 800MHz is probably high-end model, but... IT'S A G4!!
 
I damn well hope the G4 is in the new imac.

What do you mean you need a G4 to burn DVDs, PCworld has a Celeron machine with a DVD writer for £899, seen it today, I have vouchers for there, equiv to about $1600.

When ever i ask about Macs i get "ahhh we dont sell many Mac's can i interest you in a P4 system from Intel" :mad:

Oh well ill be pissed if i have to buy an Old 600G3 imac when i know for the same money elsewhere i could get a nice new one :mad:
