Not the best day with my MacBook. Deleted almost the entire utilities folder. Complicated. Anyhow, I am 100 percent positive it is GONE, so please no replies like "check the trash", or use spotlight.

I insert my 10.5 install disk, and it's warped, unrecognizable. Can anyone zip up the utilities folder from 10.5 and send it to me??? I am screwed until then. Better yet, put it on an FTP server and email me access? Message me and I will provide my email.

No more toying around in root...

Option Simple and Dirty

  • 1. Take $30
    2. Buy Snow Leopard from Macstore
    3. Boot.
    4. Upgrade to better OS

Option Better

  • 1. Take $100.
    2. Buy External Hard Drive
    3. Back up your data--consider getting a proper cloning program like Carbon Copy Cloner or SuperDuper!
    4. Take $30
    5. Buy Snow Leopard from Macstore
    6. Boot.
    7. Wipe Internal Drive and format it.
    8. Install better OS.
    9. Hookup External Hard Drive
    10. Use Migration Assistant--it will ask you if you want to do this at the end of the installation--to bring "you" over.
    11. Henceforth back up your data every day.
    12. Profit.
