MacUser is reporting that Apple will release speed bumped PowerMacs next week. The speed bump is expected to be small (topping out at 1ghz), and low key, with only a press release.

Sources indicate the resellers have been told to expect the new models next Wednesday, January 22nd...

Well, I guess it's better than no speed bump at all. This probably means that Macworld New York will be focused on new Pro hardware, be it G4+ Apollo or G5 machines....

Don't take that as a complain but man, they can't even release more than 1Ghz PowerMacs!?! At least, I hope those ARE the apollos or else it means G5 will come out waaaaaay later! (unless they dismiss the apollos and get to the G5 right away)

What do you all think?
