New Server Name

I am switching from easesoftware.net to easesoftware.com. I own both domains. I did the "changeip" with the LDAP directory using the same IP address. But the search base in ServerAdmin=>Open Directory=>Settings=>Protocols still shows:

dc=easeserver,dc=easesoftware,dc=net

I realize that this is probably o.k. but I'd like to change it so that all the "net" things are gone. How can I do this? Am I playing with fire?

Thanks,
Perry

What you see is a split of parts of your full (server) domain name easeserver.esaesoftware.net. You can change it in the OD settings (server admin).

Changing has not such a big impact, but some parts of the software use this method for find global settings, so if you change it, make sure to change it everywheree. If you acces it from the outside (over the internet), than be sure to use a valid name, which is you own.

Good luck, Kees

This is the search base for your LDAP records. This designates where in the LDAP tree all searches should begin. You want this to reflect the proper point. Just to clarify what it is and how it works a bit. :)
