Hi all!

Ive been given a small project to complete in the next few weeks.
Basically it consists of 1 Windows 2000 Server, 7 Windows 2000 Pro machines and 1 G4 OSX.
Now the Windows pc's I can setup very easily - they dont need a domain so it will be a simple workgroup with a file and print server.
The thing I want to know is what wireless cards are compatible with macs and where do I buy them and for how much (Im located in the uk). The mac needs to be able to access the internet from the workgroup and transfer image files to other Windows PCs.

Can someone give me a low-down or step by step on how to accomplish this? I have never used a MAC before, so all this is new teritory to me.

Thanks!

Hi Langaleer and welcome to the forum.
You will need to specify your mac a bit more. Since you are looking for a wireless card, it sounds like it's a powerbook or ibook. Check out applestore for wireless cards (airport). They are also available for desktop comps as PCI-cards. However, there are even third party cards for the card bus (pcmcia)..
Since your Win2k network seems to work fine, it will be very easy to add the mac to the network. Which operating system are you using on your mac? Jaguar (10.2.x) or panther (10.3.x)? There is not much you will have to do. Just plug the mac to the switch and test with ping. Open 'Terminal' in the application folder and try ping. Your network should adjust automatically. If not, you will need to specify the ip of the win2k server as a dns server. Are you using a DHCP?
We can guide you through the setup, but we will need some more details.
