Probably just to show it to people who aren't switched yet. I doubt we will see 10.2 yet. Maybe steve will demo it in his keynote but i dont think it will be released until March.

If we take the speed-gain, the simplicity, the functions, the dock-improvement and all those from 10.0 to 10.1...just think of what we can see in 10.2
 
i would agree with googolplex but would also add that it seems they are presnting some more advanced stuff as well. This os still needs alot of explaining as far as i am concerned. there is no comprehensive manual or even good reference works for it. i know that without this site, i would be alot more lost than i am and i am still looking forward to the presentations. I hope the more advanced ones show me some new tricks.

remember the general public still has lots of questions about osx, even the general mac public.
