New window treatment?

Ever since I updated to OS 15.3.1 (Sequoia) and it's Safari 18.3, I'm getting weird windows vanishing to the margins when I open another one in Safari.
Don't know if I did something or it's part of Safari.
I don't like it and want it back to 'normal' (If there is such a thing!)
I cannot find anything related to this in Safari's settings (and what the H is the section 'Feature Flags' ?)

Anyone else?

Yes, I was having the same issue on my 2019 iMac. I felt like they changed the intentions of of the windows and how they worked, but it was really buggy. Then when I got my m4 Mac mini, I left it as a fresh install and I noticed the window snapping was working correctly and made more sense to me in how it should function, even though I wasn't sure I liked it.

Not sure they are checking how things work on older intel and OS updates, but you might check your settings, in System Settings if you search "Window" then choose Window Tiling, you will see "Drag windows to screen edges to tile", and "drag windows to menu bar to fill screen" and see if those are enabled. If not, you might toggle them on and save and then toggle them back off and see if that makes a difference.

Thanks Scott, but those options are totally greyed out.

Also, which MAY be part of this is that if I click on my desktop, all open windows spring to the side and bottom and a grey border surrounds the entire screen. Click again, and the windows reappear. UGH!!!

To disable the feature where clicking on the desktop makes windows disappear on a Mac, go to your System Settings, then navigate to "Desktop & Dock", and under "Desktop & Stage Manager", change the "Click wallpaper to reveal desktop" option from "Always" to "Only in Stage Manager" - this will prevent windows from hiding when clicking the desktop unless Stage Manager is actively turned on.

Key steps:
  • Click the Apple logo in the top left corner.
  • Select "System Settings".
  • Click on "Desktop & Dock" in the sidebar.
  • Find "Click wallpaper to reveal desktop" under "Desktop & Stage Manager".
  • Select "Only in Stage Manager".

The original problem still exists!
Example: On this page in Safari. Text comes in from Messages. I click Messages in dock and this window flys left to oblivion when Messages opens. When done with Messages, I collapse it to the dock, but in order to get back to this page, I need to click on Safari in dock to get here.
Never did this before until 15.3.1.
Something got activated just like the Stage Manager did in the posts above.
What, I do not know!
