Hi, this its my 1st post here and i want to thank you all for all the contributions on this forums, its a great place for a starter like me on the Macintosh world ;)

Well, now this 2 things.... i've a GeForce4 Ti that and i don't know if can use it on my G4, i just bought an used G4 with 80Gb 7200 rpm, 704 Mb Ram and OS X Jaguar (Single processor), as i'm really new on Mac, i trying to read all i can, but until now, i don't have a clue if i can use that card on my mac (btw, the card has the digital conector that some mac monitors have).

and in 2nd place, does mac support on Jaguar the Soundblaster Extigy external sound card?, in some post some people told that its not Mac official, does anyone knows something about this? (I know that it could be used on linux machines, so probably on Mac too).

Thanks in advance and please sorry if for my inexperience i make some stupid questions, but i'm trying to learn all this stuff fast, until now i already know that i was using a wrong computer (my old pc).

Again thanks.

Hola Jesus, bienvenido en Macosx.com! ;) :)

Your questions are not at all stupid! I wish I could answer to those specific questions but I don't have an experience with neither of those hardwares... so I just wanted to welcome you here and tell you got a great machine! I hope you will enjoy it - I'm sure someone will be able to give better (I hope soon) answers to your doubts, and that you will feel fine here and with your new Mac!

Hi Giaguara and bobw, thanks for your answers and help....

I've a few notices... the good one, as soon as i connect the Soundblaster Extigy on my mac, it was recognized asap :)

Then i change some sound preferences on my System preferences and i was hearing music with my SB Extigy (now i'm working on some other hardware related with my Altec speakers, but thats other thing).

Regarding the GeForce 4 Ti 4200 (that's my card) well...., i change the card on my G4 and when i turn it on, i don't receive video, i just see a black page on my monitor.

I don't know if there's something i need to do before on my system, but i'll still looking for something on this... my card its AGP 8X/4X/2X and it supports DirectX8.1 and Open GL 1.3 (which that means it could be used also on a Mac with OS X)... but not here with me until now.

Again, thanks for your answers.

Your pc Geforce card won't work in a Mac. You can flash a pc version of the ATI 8500 to work in a Mac, but that's the newest card. So it's a no go.

The extigy of course does work with 10.2. 10.2.4 (i think) included Extigy drivers, although they are very simple. 10.3 is supposed include better drivers for the extigy, and supposed to include drivers for the SB Audigy
