When you create a newsgroup account in Sys. Pref>Internet, where can I find it back afterwards? I do not see anything in MAIL... Or do I have to open another program?
yes, this requires a third party application. some pretty good ones are available at www.macupdate.com and www.versiontracker.com. just do a search for 'newsreader' or 'news'. you will find plenty to experiment with.
my own favorite for osx so far is thoth, but i am really hoping that my all time favorite Hogwasher will be ported to osx before too long. it still runs great in classic so i am still patient for now. but only an osx reader will use the values you setup in osx system prefs as defaults.
I used to use Thoth until the demo month ran out ( I don't have a credit card to buy a licience). Thoth is definately the power users Newsgroup app of choice, but I found it's user interface a little clunky.
May I suggest Halime. It has a great GUI and is freeware (free). It is still in development so lacks some features such as posting binaries (drat!), but it is easy to use and helps you out when you get stuck. It shows much promise for the future.
