Nice interesting Predictions (Really worth a read)

It sure is interesting, but this guy should get the facts right before writing.

Photoshop 6 release, iPod for 300 dollars...

OK, seriously: Of course, the extraordinal hype Apple creates is only understandable by Apple fanatics. This is is no way ment as an insult! To most of us, the G5 and the LCD iMacs would be enough! Top it off with a PDA and all of us would say "yep, that hype was done justice". Of course, the very next day we all will meet here and bitch about how "unspectacular" it was. And the PC community will just shake it's head and say "so much hype for a new processor and a new consumer computer???". Fact is, they never lived in "our" world and maybe can't understand how this changes our world.
Remember how we all - me too - bitched about the iPod! "Revolutionary, hah". Now, where most of us hold one in their hands, we all know "yep, it IS revolutionary". It's Apple. The design, the possibilites, the quality, the never before seen ease of navigating such wast amounts of MP3s...it was a revolution.

This might sound like the typical, hysterical "we are so great"-speak of an Apple fanatic, but I tend to look at these things quite open minded, and all I want to say is that to the "outside world", they keynote on Monday won't be spectacular. To use Apple freaks, it will ;)

Yeah but i like the sound of Dual G3s, now youre talking, id buy one on monday if they were going at a good price.

The G3 processor was never conceived as dual-capable. Like the 603. Okay, Be made a machine with dual 603s. But Apple only made 604 dual processor machines. Never a G3. And G4s should be available by now in enough quantities at low enough prices, so I think there'll rather be iMacs with 'lower' speed G4s, maybe even duals, at up to 900 MHz, while the PowerMacs will start there and go up to whatever will be available this spring. Motorola is known to have G4s at and above 1 GHz, the G5... we'll see (as said a thousand times).

'Where no PC has gone before...' Well, what can this mean? It could mean '3 GHz'. Guess not. 'The bedroom' would be another meaning. But there have been notebooks for a while, and I'm very much used to writing my stories in bed on my TiBook. Where else has no PC ever gone before? Well, what about a really new killer application for computers? Well, think we won't figure that out, because all I can think of right now would be something already done. Unless we're talking holodeck simulations.
