Thanks!! as i've mentioned elsewhere, this was the work of the mods as a team along with TommyWillB. It took about a month of discussing and clarrifying and debating to arrive at what we hope will be a more straightforward and easier to use group of forums. i'm glad somebody likes them.
(sometimes if all you have to give is thanks, that's enough )
i kind of miss the old macosx.com... yet i like this one cuz there's more sections that were needed badly.... games! X11! Now it's called The Café.
So i have decided that i like the change too. Wow im confusing aren't i
dlloyd - the suggestion to further reorganize came from several people, both members and mods. Tommy was one of the most organized in his suggestions and had some very good ones so we invited him in to help and he contributed a lot to what you see.
well, we're not trying to be the answer for everything. i think the name of the site sums it up - Mac OS X is our focus here. we try to provide some space for things that relate, but are outside the limitations of just having to do with OS X, but Steve says classic is dead and we believe him.
hmmm... the problem is, i think that the top section is too large... try braking it down into Operating Systems and Software and Other or something
whatever, it's good enough i think
is it really worth it if i pay the 20 dollers though? Like do i get cool features in the forum, and i have a say in what happens?
androo - i would hope that people don't look at donations as being "worth it" in terms of any extras they might get from it. but rather that they will evaluate the overall value of the site as it is and help to maintain the level of quality we have achieved here. that is a very personal decision in many ways, not the least of which being whether you are in a position to give at the moment. We are not 'selling' extras, the rewards of donating are rather small compared to the benefit of simply keeping the site available for all to use.
hmmm good point
i'll probably donate once i have a bit of money....
Oh yea, it would be cool if you split up the Mac comunity into Mac Software, and Mac Hardware, and anything else in other.
yea, that was considered, i personally prefer the larger groups and less subgroups. if it were all my decision there would just be a list of forums and no groupings.
