Nightly Maintenance Routines

Hi everyone -

I have a quick question that's been nagging at me for some time now.

Okay, so we all know OS X runs the nightly maintenance routines between 3:30 and 5:00am, roughly - when this happens does OSX wake from deep sleep, or when the machine is in sleep mode overnight do these routines not run?

I don't think they run if the machine's asleep. You can get a program to run it for you anytime. here;

Okay, thanks! I've been using MacJanitor for some time, but had heard conflicting reports on whether it woke to run maintenance or not.
