no Apple light

Ever since the firmware update I haven't seen the Apple glow on my Intel iMac. If I put it to sleep the power light pulses, but otherwise no lights. I tried to 'chat' with Apple help, but that is quite the experience.

Is the Apple on the iMac supposed to glow? I recently had one and haven't ever seen that.

If this is a new iMac (Intel or G5) you normally only see the light on power-up for 2-3 seconds and then only when you put it to sleep.
