no graphic mode ?

I've just installed darwin 1.2 (downloaded from
Apple web site) on a G4 dual-processor via a MAC
OS 9 system. The install is successful but I don't
have any graphic mode, just log-in in text mode.

Did i miss something ?

Darwin is not Mac OS anything. It is the Mach microkernel, with BSD and the IOKit driver architecture on top of that. You have installed a Unix operating system, and rather a good one at that.

Darwin is the core of Mac OS X, but not all of it. All the graphical Macintosh-y bits are what you pay Apple the big money for.
