Hello,
I have recently experienced a problem very similar to another user's (Bellatrix), the URL is as follows:

The few differences in it however, is that
-When starting up the grey screen goes on for a long time, and has never (so far) actually started up and reached the login screen.
-There hasn't been any 'black screens'
-The computer in which I have been having problems is an iMac with OS 10.4.11 (currently 10.4.7 for some reason)
With that said the only way I can use the computer is by booting from the disk.
I am sorry if the information I have given is vague, I will be happy to give you as much information as possible.
Now, my question is this: Is there any difference as to what to do in my situation? Or is it pretty much the same?
