No key repeat on Powerbook G4

I've had my Powerbook G4, OSX for some time now, but tonight I realized the key repeat was no longer working (first time problem).

I tried to fix the problem under System Preferences>Keyboard & Mouse>Keyboard. I set the "key repeat rate" on fast and the "delay until repeat" on off, but it didn't help.

It's not urgent, but it's getting annoying when I have to repeatedly hit the delete button instead of holding it down. I'd appreciate the help.
 
Is this just one key? Also, check the settings in "Universal Access", specifically, the keyboard tab. Make sure Slow Keys is off.
 
I have no idea why this fixed it, but I have Quake on my laptop, and I decided to see if shooting multiple rounds could still be done by holding down the key. It still worked, and after I quit my game, my keys repeated just fine. Weird.
