No more OS9! Now how do I reinstall AppleWorks?

Master of my Universe
So I went and deleted OS9 ... to free up some HDD space on my 10GB iBook ... and since I never used it anyway (right?)... but now I've found that I deleted AppleWorks too ... since it was installed in the Appplications (Mac os 9) directory ... so now how do I reinstall it?

I found the installer on my iBook Software Install CD ... but it's an OS9 installer ... do I have to reinstall OS9 in order to reinstall AppleWorks? and if so, do I have to completely reload my machine to reinstall OS9?

so life just north of cowtown just wasn't exciting enough for you huh? just had to give yourself something to do!! (he he) i don't know how you managed to get rid of AW. it's a three step process at least anytime i go to delete a copy of it. there are ways to install your 9 back on without reformatting. do a search of this site for 'intall classic' and you should find several threads on how to do this. my guess is that unless you have a backup of your aw osx on disk somewhere that you are going to have to do this. or maybe if you are a registered aw user you can order a replacement disk from apple that will have the newest version on it.
probably a good idea to make a backup this time around to make sure in future.

btw - i lived in cols. for 15 yrs, graduate of osu and my mom still lives there. so i can call it cowtown if i want to:D

Boot up from your "Software Install" CD that came with your computer, which has OS 9 installed on the CD, you can install the AppleWorks application without installing anything else. At least that's how it works with iMacs I've seen at my former junior high school. However, those are 2 iterations old, so maybe Apple changed the process.

Once you install AppleWorks via that CD, you can download all the Appleworks for OS X updates, and apply them booted into the CD if you need to. The latest 6.2.1 and 6.2.2 updates can be applied within OS X without having to boot up Classic.
