no name of songs

Care to give us more information? Like how or where you obtained these songs. Maybe provide a screenshot of your problem.

ok sorry...i have had these songs for a while....i lost them because ire installed my puter...but i was able to get them back from itunes.... but for some strange reason some of the songs went to a track instead of names..
i went to itunes for help and they said to.... select a song.( hold down shift key).. choose advanced> get cd track name.... i actually got maybe out of maybe 30 5 names but i cant get the rest of the songs...and most of these are songs i downloaded or i bought...its all legal songs if thats what your asking..... thanks for your help.. cleo

No, I'm not worried about them being legal and all, just what your history with them was.
So, at one time, all the songs had names?
And if so, you are saying something happened and wiped out all the names?
And if I have that much right, you were able to "get cd track name" for 5 of them?
But you still have 25 songs with no name?
Question: are these 25 songs from sources other than iTunes specifically (whether CD or internet)?

and the "Get CD Track Names" did not pull these names down?
I would re-import these exact same CD's and hope that works.
Option two for me would be to use a program called ieatbrainz, does a decent job. A better job if your music is more mainstream.
Last resort would be to enter each field manually.
Do you ever back up your data? If not, this would be a great example of why it's a good idea.

Are the track names with normal Latin character set?
I once saw something like that happen - all the track names were gone when anything was pulled to the iPod, because the tracks in questions had the track information in Hebrew. iTunes showed if fine, but since iPod didn't ... it was all fine in iTunes, and everything was Artist 1 - Track 1 in iPod.
