No new PowerMac G4 Models!

No new PowerMac G4 models announced during keynote...

I can't believe that Apple completely skipped this. Why will anybody buy a $2499 867mhz PowerMac G4 when they can buy a LCD G4 800mhz iMac for $1799?

This seems like a HUGE snafu to me...

Out with the old, in with the new. Getting into the home and education market must be done. 98% of the home users I know don't want to / never want to know how to open their computer and change hardware configurations. I think this is the same concept as the cube, but better.
Mac's have always been hounded by critics for their price, and not performance. Now they can take that argument and shove it.

as long as apple is going for the BMW-like market share, they need to cater to power users as well.

And I know that a dual 1.4 ghz G4 would give athalon users a run for their money.

I too was disappointed at the lack of power-user stuff this mac world:

no osx 10.2
no new G4 towers
no new processors

and an ugly imac...
which will grow on me but for today is still ugly ;-)
