No sound on FCP 4 (Log & Capture)

I get no sound when i'm logging clips to batch capture. The sound meter is moving but still no sound. Sound has been captured because it plays back normally in the canvas. Got me stumped. Please help

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought that while Final Cut Pro captures video and audio it doesn't play sound through your computer (it does through your camcorder but not through your computer). This is normal.
