Hi,
I'm having a problem with noise generated by a viewsonic external 20" monitor.
I have 2 setups with the same exact monitor .. a VX2000. (2 different VX2000 monitors, that is)
setup 1: powerbook 1.5 Ghz G4 w/ Motu 828mkii + VX2000
setup 2: G4 dual 1Ghz w/ M-audio Firewire 410 + VX2000
both VX2000 monitors are connected with the DVI connection. They also have a VGA connector on them..
I get a terrible amount of noise introduced into the firewire audio stream from them. The noise goes away if I power off the monitor.
I've tried plugging the monitor into a Furman power conditioner.. that didn't help at all.
Could someone PLEASE shed ANY light on where the noise is coming from and whether there is any hope for lessening it ??
note-- I don't think it's a simple matter of cables not being shielded.. because moving the cables around doesn't affect the noise at all.
thanks
