Have recently had some problems w/iMAC; specialist in Saskatchewan resolved everything quickly with switch-off of modem and router, then switch back on-----problem solved! My system is MAC OS X v 10.4 Tiger.
Had it for one year in March - beautiful machine! Prior to the specialist, another tech earlier in the day had me reload Disk 1 AND Disk 2 (while saving all the settings; this took about an hour and a half, and I was still unable to load into (or gain access to) a certain window. Then came my lady in CANADA on a white horse, and rescued me! Now, today's problem........ I am unable to load iTunes!(It's in my dock). A window pops up that says I require "Mac OSX 10.4.9 or later". Since when? What do I have now? Why today, all of a sudden, do I get this blocker? Please help? I'm sure it's got to be something very simple. Thanks. Linda Strauss

Try clicking on the Apple (top left in menubar) then click on Software updates,
if it lists an OS X 10.xx update, apply it, this might solve a problem that was created when you were advised to reload Disk 1.
