You talking to me!
My boss brought his old 233MHz iMac (OS 9.2.2) in as it was having a few problems starting up and with Remote Access.
It basically start-ups Ok but then waits for what seems 5 or more minutes before the desktop shows up. Sometimes you would have to force quit the finder as the desktop would just lock up (hard disk icon selected but unable to do anything).
After some time of running some extension/control panel conflict tests etc I came to the conclusion that it is Remote Access causing the problem as the control Strip icon for Remote Access was missing but was there in the System folder.
I ran disk repair, removed preferences, removed and reinstalled Remote Access, but still no joy.
When trying to access the control panel it said it could not be opened because "controller" could not be found.
Anyone have any ideas / help on this.
Thanks in advance.
eric
