off topic: Microsoft to buy google?

Rumor: Microsoft will maybe buy a part of google

It's seems to be very bad news for some websites that doesn't pay for searchengines (like me). I prefer a short pain and play short on the ball.

Dear God, I hope it doesn't happen... that would be devestating. They'd probably mock up the templates and fill them with crap that doesn't need to be there.
 
My French newspaper (Les Echos) is more precise on this news. Microsoft has made a PROPOSAL and Google has NOT refused - YET. BUT the case is NOT official, it's just an informal request from MS Corp.

Moreover, MS is worried about Google getting on the stock exchange, but that's a more complex matter.
 
Microsoft has the power of a nearmonopolist. They have intentions to buy a part of Google because they can be free of sites that makes publicity for competing products(example mine - look closely at the name). In ecommerce the primary rule is add your site to a searchengine. As with the 'annoying' Connectix and 'showing G5's' the Xsites will be fired for showing what a good company Microsoft is.
