One thing I wish Safari did

I am generally a non-Microsoft person, but the thing that I liked in IE was it outlined links you clicked on. I always thought that effect was neat. I would love to see that in Safari. Just a suggestion.

That's funny, I always hated that behavior. It looked horribly Windows-ish.

Also funny.... I'm using FireFox right now, and it doesn't do that.

I have to agree. Then again, Apple could always make it a user selectable option if enough people found it interesting/wanted/needed.

I don't think it would really make sense, because on Windows, it serves a purpose that doesn't exist in the Mac way. Namely, that just about every interface element in Windows is selectable with the tab key. The outline is necessary to show where the focus is. Macs have it, too, in the form of blue focus rings. It's just that on Macs, things like buttons and links don't get keyboard focus, so naturally they don't have focus rings.

That is, unless you enable "Full Keyboard Access" in the Keyboard & Mouse preference pane. Then you can tab through buttons and whatnot. It would be nice if Safari could (as an option) register its links as UI elements so you could tab through them with Full Keyboard Access the same way you can tab through buttons. Unfortunately, it doesn't. It works with web forms, though.

I agree that the look of it on Windows was never appealing. If Apple were to implement the functionality, I really hope they would find a better way of representing it. Dotted lines are so '90s. :)

you can tab through links. the problem/reason, is because MS consider that clicking on a link gives it Focus until you do something else, rather than giving it focus while the mouse is either over or clicking the object (link)

What i'm talking about is when you click a link or link image in IE it shows the full color ring around it. Open IE and go to google.com and, for example click the "Images" link.
