I'm 1/4 Basque you know?...
Has anyone got a clue how to force delete stuff in the trash. I installed Officev.X and it's all bollocksed up. SO i removed 2001 and any 98 components and it now won't let me empty my trash.

I mean in Single User mode or vis terminal. I'm a complete beginner so please describe word for word.

Help

There's an excellent "How-to:" that describes how to empty trash of stubborn items here.

It worked great for me.

often pulling the items back and putting them in your os9 desktop and rebooting in 9.2.1 and trashing them again will do the trick unless they are locked. If files are locked you need to select them and use show info from the file menu to unlock them before trashing. If you have lots of locked files you can get an app at macupdate.com that locks/unlocks mass # of files at once. I forget the name of it but lock is in the title.

Actually couldn't get the script on the HOW TO section to work personally...
I got BATchmod from versiontracker.com
It's a freeware app that lets you change ownership and privileges to your files... so you can have total control over them and be able to mark them "writable".
Worked great for me!

The files that you drag to the trash are acutally moved to invisible folders...

I tried all that sudo stuff, just doesn't work. Here are a couple of screen grabs to clear the air.
