orange broadband

I am trying to install orange broadband on to my mac(ox 10.4)

they have sent me speedtouch modem(their standard one) and i am assured that this would be compatible with macs.

when i insert the start up CD i can open up the first orange icon but then i can not open up the installer/driver for ox 10.4. where the icons are at the bottom of the screen it looks like it is trying to open something but cant.(my partner thinks that they may have inadvertantly deleted some software that is needed)

orange now say that they are sending me another copy of the driver to see if this helps. i downloaded the driver from
http://www.speedtouch.co.uk/330.asp but it still wouldnt work, the guy from tech support said this might have been because of the format-i downloaded it on to a PC then tried to use it in the mac. he also mentioned using terminal-i dont seem to have this, is this something i deleted?

hope this all makes sense, apologies for being such a novice!

does anyone have any ideas on how i can get round this and has anybody succesfully managed to install orange broadband on a mac?

would gratefully receive any help!
