OS 10.2.6 will not share an internet connection :(

I just upgraded from 10.2 to 10.2.6

When i enablewindows file sharing, it does not connect and does not stay on. the apple support page says that i need to re-install OS X. but the installation software says that i will need to either "archive and install" or "erase and install". I dont want to do either.

Plus, I cannot access the internet connection shared by the other PC on the network

Help me out.. please!!

More details please for the systems you try to access plus the networking components...

Just don't panic because more likely after having help from people around here you should see that you will succeed in what you are trying to do!

turns out that i was using a falty cable
