I'm now running Tiger after recently upgrading from 10.2.7. But it has wiped my OS 9 and classic system.
I don't have my Tiger CD anymore but i do have my 10.2.7 CD.
When i try to install the additional software, hardware tester etc.. it installs the software restore program and then requests for me to insert a CD with the following symbol on (two white circles). As i also don't have a seperate OS 9 CD i presume it means the original 10.2.7 installer DVD. But as this is already in the Drive it should recognise it right? Wrong. Even after I eject and re-insert it fails to recognise the DVD. Any ideas? I have tried downloading updates for 9.1 - 9.2 and installing them to trrick it but no joy. It simply says "cannot find a Mac OS 9 system folder on the startup disk.
P.s does anyone know if am i entitled to a free hardcopy of OS 9 seeing as i own legal copies of 10.2.7 & 10.4? Or can i simply download it for free anywhere?
Thanks, great site this, very tony T
