OS X 10.3.9 Mounted volumes contain only \"empty\" folders.

We have one machine in our shop that mounts 8 or 9 network volumes. It was recently upgraded from 10.3.9 to 10.4.3.

The volumes mount with default icons on bootup and contain only empty folders! The folder structure seems to be there, but 0 files. We're connecting using AFP if that helps.

The other Tiger-based Macs do not seem have this problem, you are able to see all the other files on the servers just fine. The problematic one has this issue regardless of which User you choose (there are 4 for that machine).

It is also strange in that it mounts volumes that are not in the Login Items list (and since Classic isn't running, it's not mounting them either).

I've unmounted and remounted the volumes which seems to fix it so long as you don't reboot. I've cleaned out the Login items list in the User Preferences panel repeatedly and replaced them with "freshly mounted" volumes to no avail (they come up with generic icons on a reboot, etc.). I've tried creating a new User but that didn't help as we get the exact same problem on reboot.

Just can't seem to figure this one out...
