os x and i need os 9

how can i install os 9 when i already have os x installed. i need to to run the classic stuff.

If you installed the drivers for OS 9 when you installed X, just put the OS 9 CD in and install.

it says there are no localized classic-specific resources to update the selected system folder.

i've tried installing it from os x. that doesnt work. it looks for a classic environment to run the installer in and can't find it (obviously).

i also tried the boot from cd and install. it tells me that it cant install on the paritition and that i have to do a clean install.

is there another way? hopefully?

Okay - that means - you may not have the OS 9 drivers installed.

Back up all your important documents, etc. Then boot from the OS 9 CD and go to drive set up. From the menu select update drivers. Then quit Drive setup and go to the installer. A clean install means that it will rename your system folder as previous system folder. It should then install OS 9. When done, you should have OS 9 system folder. Now get the OS X cd and install that (boot from CD). You should then have all your OS X files still intact and both OS 9 and OS X on the drive.
