Os X and its mouse speed?

Some reason my apple pro mouse moves SOOOOOOOO Slow in osx anyversion*** using x10.1.3 but in os 9 it movies nice and fast but it just drives me crazy cause its slow and i'm used to a fast moving cursor any ideas?
 
If you can't get your mouse running fast enough in System Prefs, download a program called Mox (from versiontracker.com) which includes many options, among them one to up the mouse speed up to 5.5 times the limit OS X implies. Another one is TinkerTool, which I think has that option.
