OS X Lion - Preview App export file types

The issue is regarding Preview, Version 5.5 (719), as installed with the new release of OS X Lion 10.7.

Preview opens, displays, and saves GIF files correctly. However, when another type of image file is opened (i.e. PDF or JPG), I cannot find a way to save it as a GIF file. The only file types that I see listed in the export dialog are JPEG, JPEG-2000, OpenEXR, PDF, PNG, and TIFF.

Does anyone know if there is a way to include GIF in this list, as it used to be available under OS X Leopard 10.6?

The possibility to save/export to a GIF file seems to have been removed in 10.7.

Send feedback about the "improvement" via http://www.apple.com/feedback/macosx.html.
While individual feedback may not get it added, if there are enough inconvenienced people complaining about it, it has a higher chance of getting it possibly added back later.
(You could also use AppleCare to make them file the feedback on your behalf, but it's faster yourself).

So for now some third-party graphic converter app would be the best bet, or perhaps AppleScript could do it.

Actually, I just learned about this from Wiki. For Lion, when choosing which format you want to save the file as, if you hold down the 'option' key when clicking on 'format', you'll get a boatload of formats to save under, including GIF.
