OS X Server vs. client

Well, it's getting to be time to think about a new Mac (well, time to start saving for one anyway). I'll probably be buying a new G5 (or G6, or whatever it is by then) around next April, hopefully around the time Tiger ships.

But I'm thinking of getting it with OS X server installed instead of the client version. It would be nice to be able to manage an actual OS X domain (which, as far as I know, involves a lot of command line hacking to get it to work on the client version). Would using the server version have any downside as far as using the machine for workstation chores, e.g., Photoshop, Maya, Word/Excel, Mail, Safari?

My understanding is that the major difference between OS X client and server is that the server version has more and better administration tools. Are there any other gotchas I should be aware of?

I use the server edition (10.2) for actual server use at the office, but haven't had any problems with the Adobe Creative Suite apps or Macromedia DW/FW the few times I've had to run them (forget the iBook at home and don't want to use the evil Wintel boxes <G>).

In fact, it's actually kind of hard to tell the difference between the client and server editions if you just sit down. The biggie with the server edition is the tools provided and ease of networking/setup. For a mixed network (Mac/Win) it's alot easier than trying it with a client edition.

Also i dont think server will run Classic. does it have all the fast-user-switching stuff?
