OS X upgrade Apps with out OS 9 Issue

It just occurred to me as I continue to ponder my future life in an OS X-only world, that I and many others may be in a world of hurt, inconvenience and otherwise if we ever decide to dump 9/Classic (or are forced by Apple's future non-9 compliant machines).

The problem lies in the fact that I've gt a ton of software upgrade CDs (Adobe mostly) that will upgrade Apps that HAVE to be installed first in 9. Which, of course, means that I either have to always keep 9 on my box (not a huge deal actually with today's gargantuan HD sizes) or somehow obtain legally or otherwise full installer CDs.

Am I missing something, or is this a big pain? I don't recall ever seeing software companies offering full installer CDs if you turn in your old original CD or anything like that.
