I have Mac OS8 and OS9 at work. I try to copy files from Mac to Windows. I think about mapping a drive to Windows or use FTP. I've never used Mac before, and I don't know how to accomplish this task. Could someone help. Thank you.
 
Mac OS 9 and below did not support SMB/CIFS (aka Windows file sharing) out of the box. You can purchase a piece of software from a company called Thursby Software called DAVE that will allow you to do this.

If the Windows computer you are accessing is running a server version of Windows, then you might want to see about installing the Macintosh File Sharing component on the Windows server. This basically gives Windows the ability to communicate with Macs using AppleTalk. As far as I know, it's only worked with Windows 2000 Server or below. Windows Server 2003 might support it but it would probably have to be installed from the installation discs.

The other option is to set up an FTP service on the Windows computer and use an FTP client. Here are a few links to some FTP clients for Mac OS 9 and below.
