I am trying to figure out why I am unable to run the software updates on an OSX 10.3.9 machine. I am behind a proxy that is not blocked (confirmed by proxy admin) When I run the update on 10.4.X and above (on the same network) I have no issues. It will start the update then prompt me to authenticate. In watching the proxy the update send the request through the proxy as annomous. is their a way that I can tell the OS what credentials to use or force it to prompt for log in info. Also I noticed that when 10.3.9 starts the update I hear a faint beep and then it will hang for a while then fail.
