We resently switched from a NT-server to a XServe G5 and a Assanté FriendlyNET GX5 Gigabit Switch
we have the strangest thing
our old G3 machines (2x imac and 1 blue/white G3) are realy slow now
it takes 9 hours to copy 120 mb from the server to the computer desktop.
when i connect an old 10/100 hub tot the Assanté switch en connect the 3 computers to that hub, the computers act normal (normal speed)
but when i share my G4 1,25 Ghz machine over the network and the G3 computers (connected to the Assanté) mount my HD they can copy files with a normal speed.
I've tried to set the network port manually to 100 Mbit (even to half duplex) but that didn't work.
anyone knows this problem?? anyone with a solution??
