OSX and SCSI CD Burners

I have a external CD Burner for my G4 . . . Yamaha 8x burner. It is SCSI connection and is hooked up to my 400 Mhz G4. I just upgraded to OSX and now toast will not find the burner both in Classic and in OSX.

I downloaded the new toast for X and it is not finding the scanner either.

I am wondering if OSX is having problems with SCSI cards and reading them. Does anyone know what I can do or have any info for me. I would appreciate any help.

Thanks.

I've got a G3 B&W with an Adaptec SCSI card (2906) and my external SCSI burner (a yamaha too) works fine, but only since I've installed 10.1.2 (10.1.3 is allright too).

So :

...Install the latest version of Mac OS X
...Install your SCSI card driver (check VersionTracker.com for the last update)
...Try again.

And if it still does not work, well, wait for 10.2...

Similar problem here. I have a Yamaha 16-10-40 firewire. I just installed the latest firmware update for OS 9 (also can boot in X), and now my Toast sees no CD drive. Now, I wonder if there is a way to unistall that update! Frustration!
