OSX Mail auto-addressing

In Mail in OS X 10.4.8 on my fab Intel Macbook Pro, I see many unfamiliar names in the auto addresses which appear when I type in the first letter of the recipient. This list seems to grow without my permission. Any ideas on how I can easiliy edit this list?

The growing list is probably a list of folks you've addressed mail to in the past. You can access and edit this list at Window > Previous Recipients
