osx msWord hangs, requires relaunch

i keep having my msWord crash, on my macpro. it "hangs" and i "force quit" when i see the "msWord is not responding" note.

then the query frame opens, with "do i want to send a "problem report" to apple.
anyway, i cannot decypher anything in this long report, to explain why the msword app sometimes just hangs, freezes, so that i have to simply relaunch it. then it works. it's msWord ( for mac 2004) version 11.6.0.
i could send a copy of this huge file, if it would help anyone diagnose this.

The newest version of Word 2004 is v11.6.2. Which version of MacOS X are you running?

i'm running 11.6.0, but i seriously doubt that point-2 will have any effect on my problem.

There is no such version of MacOS X. The most recent version is MacOS X 10.6.4. MacOS X 10.7 is coming. MacOS X 11.6.0 will be awhile.

i misread your query. i thought you were asking what ver of msWord i was using.
again, i don't see how the ver of OS X will play in to an answer, but i use 10.5.8, the last ver before snowLeopard i think. i have no particular interest in using snowLeopard! 10.5.8 is excellent in all my mac experience.

i've used it since the day the upgrade came out, in tandem with the latest software that updates msWord 2004 for mac; sooooo,
i'm not thinking that mac OS X is a problem.
anyway . . . onward ever onward.

really i was looking for someone (preferably NOT from Apple tech support!) who could decypher the kernel Krash report code, to extract some plausible diagnostic pointer for why this happens. I would attach that report here for anyone to peruse, but it's many pages long. so i'd need to send it in a e mail or some other long-text way.
