im running 10.1.4, and have always had problems working out priveleges. im on a network & all other users are Admin users, but i cant seem to set it up so they can access (read & write) all files. ive got an external firewire disk which i can set 'ignore privileges' on, but not on my internal hard disk. i recently bought "the sims: hot date", and can't use it logged in as myself as i dont have suffiecient privileges to write UserData folder - the only way i can use it is to log in as root user. is it advisable to stay in root user forever?
