Outlook for Mac 2011v14.1.4

I have used Outlook for Mac successfully but a month or two ago I was unable to send emails other then very small ones. Anything with a reasonably long test or attachments could not be sent.
I can receive OK and can send any larger emails successfully with gmail.
At the moment I cannot reply to emails because, with the size of the original message plus my reply, it does not send.

How can I resolve the problem with Outlook?
 
Your problem is not generic to Outlook 2011. The problem is specific to your setup and/or email provider(s). You should clarify issues:
  • Your model Mac.
  • Your version MacOS X.
  • Your email provider.
  • Your email protocol, i.e. POP3, IMAP, Exchange, etc.
  • The type of your problematic attachments, i.e. jpg, pdf, ppt, doc, etc.
  • The size of your problematic attachments.
  • Other information that may be relevant to your issue.
It may be useful to try sending the same attachments from a different account on your computer. If this works, then you know that the problem is limited to one specific account.
