Overheating G4?

I recently moved from the (cool) basement to a main level office. My computer is now on the carpeted floor (supported on ends by 2 pieces of plywood). The right side is up against desk with about 4"-6" clearance behind. I started having problems and discovered a bad ram chip. Then more probs with rt monitor flickering, booting to gray screen, etc. This weekend rt monitor would flicker (this is on separate video card) and computer would lock up. Ran system hardware check and no problems, also ran norton and fixed probs, however same prob occured, flicker and freeze. I disconnected monitor and no probs.
Is my card bad? or is there a heat problem. The temp in room is around 70-75. How can you determine if heat is the prob or is my card bad? or did the heat cause the ram and card to fail?

so many questions and so little time.

if card is bad, good excuse to get a new flat screen.......:D

thanx for any help,

Doubtful it's a heat problem.

Connect the monitor you disconnected to the other video card and see what happens.
Chances are it's a monitor or video card problem.
