Palm OS Device trouble

Hey guys,

I had a Sony Clie, was sinking with MacOSX without any trouble, and then, I got a new PDA, also Palm OS, that I want to sync on top of the same profile, and discontinue use of my old PDA.

I tried to just pop in the new one and sync away as usual, but I am faced with the error message...

Another Application is using the Serial Port.

I am trying to sync via USB, and the usb port is open...

Tried rebooting to clear anything up that might be on it, but with no success.

Anyone have any ideas on this?
Should it be as easy as switching the PDA's around like that?

Thanks,

Harvey

Try re-installing the Palm Desktop and see if that helps. Don't delete the Palm folder, just try and re-install the Desktop and see if that helps. I had to do that when I switched pdas. I didn't lose any information, but at first, the system didn't want to sync my new one under the same owner name.
Also, do you use iSync? that may be able to help as well. Do you still have the old pda? If you have a card reader, you can transfer your old pda applications to your new one (I'm assuming you can, never worked with the Sonys).

Harvey did you try toggling hot-sync on and off, then back on again?

What about trashing the plist prefs for sync in your library folder?

You know what. I just realizd that I upgraded my OS version since the Palm Switch. Maybe that is causing my problems.

Now I am running 10.2.6

Are there any known issues with this and PDA syncing?

In the meantime, I'll try your other suggestions! THanks
