Partitioning

Hi

I recently partitioned my HDD and installed OS X.
I have created 4 partitions

1 system 10 GB
2 swap 1GB
3 users 15GB
4 Free space - unformatted 12GB

I have a G3 600 iMac with 256 MB RAM.
The swap partition was created in the hope that it would speed everything up - and it did:D. This 1 Gig Swap partition works wonders. I followed the excellent tutorial at http://www.bombich.com/mactips/swap.html and although I didn't make it the first partition on the disk (which supposedly makes everything a little faster) it's much quicker.

With this in mind I thought it MUST also be possible  to configure the system to move the /Users directory to a seperate partition. I haven't yet managed to find much information on how to do this. Would it just involve modifying the fstab file ???

TIA

I know this is of little help, but I KNOW there is a thread here that covers having user and applications on a seperate partition. I searched on my own user name (I was a bystander while two guru's discussed the finer points), but I just can't find it and I need to get back to work! I'll try to look again later.

P.S. I would like to try your swap idea, but am worried about it working with 10.2.
